What led you to a career in construction finance (or account mgmt/sales/etc.)?

Previously, I worked at Rabbet. I was selling a construction accounting software to financial institutions. Growing up, my dad was in construction. He was a commercial roofer for a long time, but he retired as an electrician. I enjoy sales because it’s all about helping people.

What is your favorite part of your current role?

I’m excited about my team. Through my training, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with a lot of people on the team. They’re insightful, hardworking, and excited about what we’re doing.

What do you do at Billd?

I set up our subcontractor customers with their first material purchase through Billd.

What’s something new that you’ve learned since being at Billd?

I’ve learned a lot about the risk that contractors take on by purchasing materials themselves. It’s important to recognize that there is an opportunity cost associated with this.

What’s your favorite part about working at Billd?

The team.

What do you think makes Billd special?

Billd is flexible and willing to do anything for the customer. We really are a customer-first organization. Our AEs go out of their way to partner with our underwriters to get purchases funded.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success and why?

I ask a lot of questions and actively challenge assumptions.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe yourself?

Eager, coachable, and competitive.

Give us 3 fun facts about yourself that your coworkers may not know about you.

I’m a dancer, I own a cat named Miss Kia, and I try to do one new thing every week (it doesn’t always happen).

What would you do with a million dollars?

I’d like to say I’d invest it, but I’d probably buy some property on the water.

What’s #1 on your bucket list?

The number one thing I’d like to do is go to Antarctica.

What makes you happy?

Traveling and spending time with people I love.

How does Billd help contractors?

In the short term, Billd relieves the stress of paying for materials upfront. This allows contractors to grow their business and take on larger or additional projects. In the long term, Billd helps small contractors build good credit, giving them access to more financing options.

Who does Billd work best for?

Billd is best for contractors who want to achieve a Pay When Paid scenario with any supplier.
